Assessments

Assessment

60 minutes
$200

An SLP assessment may use formal and informal assessment methods to identify an individual's strengths and areas of need. Formal assessments provide standardized information about the individual's communication skills compared to age-based expectations, while informal assessments, such as observation, play-based activities, and caregiver input, provide a broader understanding of how the individual communicates in everyday situations. The results are used to identify priority areas and develop individualized, functional therapy goals.

Reassessment

60 minutes
$185

A reassessment is conducted periodically to evaluate a client's progress toward their therapy goals and to update the clinical picture. It may involve formal and/or informal assessment methods and is used to determine whether current goals have been met, whether new goals are needed, and whether the therapy approach should be adjusted. Reassessments help ensure that therapy remains meaningful, goal-directed, and responsive to the individual's evolving communication needs.

Travel fee is included in the price for in-person assessment.

A written report outlining findings, treatment plan, and goals is included with every assessment and reassessment at no additional charge. Please note that private practices typically bill report writing and distribution separately.

Individual Therapy Sessions

Each session includes 5 minutes of non-direct clinical time (e.g., discussing with parents, documenting progress, reviewing goals, and/or preparing for the next session.)

In Person

60 minutes

Best for individuals who benefit from more intensive therapy, incorporating parent coaching and training into the session. Also a great fit for older children who can maintain attention and tolerate extended activities.

Remote sessions are available for 30-minute appointments only. A great option for families who prefer the convenience of online therapy. Sessions are conducted via a secure video platform. Please note that suitability of a remote session for a child is at the discretion of the SLP.

AAC Device Programming, Customization and/or Material

Contact for Pricing

AAC device programming and customization involves individualized updates to a client's communication system based on their assessed communication needs and therapy goals. This may include customizing vocabulary, symbols, communication pages, layouts, access settings, and other features to support functional communication across home, school, work, and community environments. Programming may be completed as part of an AAC assessment or intervention plan, or as a separate service when ongoing modifications or updates are required. Materials would involve creation of simple visuals and language boards that are customized for client.

Funding Letter for AAC Device or Communication Software

$50

A funding letter is a formal clinical document prepared by an SLP to support an application for funding toward an AAC device or communication software (e.g., Proloquo2Go, TDSnap). The letter outlines the individual's communication needs, the clinical rationale for the recommended device or software, and how it will support their functional communication goals. Funding letters may be submitted to the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) or other funding bodies.

Collaboration with Community Agencies & Health Care Professionals

15 minutes
Free of charge

Communication with an individual's school, daycare, physician, or other healthcare professionals may be an important part of supporting a client's overall communication development. With parent/guardian consent, these conversations allow professionals to share relevant information, coordinate strategies, discuss progress, and promote consistency across settings. This collaboration helps ensure that therapy goals and recommendations are carried over into the individual's everyday environments.
